THE 52 WEEKS PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT
52 Weeks Photography Project
January 2026
Theodore Crandall

As a new participant in this project, I have set the following criteria for myself as well as trying to adhere to the generalized expectations. I will 1) never use archived photographs to complete a monthly challenge 2) all images will be taken in the month of the challenge 3) I will post process all images to produce the best images 4) I will submit my monthly project before the end of the month barring unforeseen circumstances, January excluded 5) I will have fun and be challenged.
#1 The First Step- Interpret that as you will.

Hidden, thanks to Winter Storm Fern, are two steps symbolic of the hidden and minimal photography that I have practiced over the past years. The First Step is my commitment to think photographically daily, hence the engagement in this project. The second step if to complete existing projects and explore new ones. With time the steps will be revealed as will the commitment to these projects.
#2 The Big Chill- Like the movie, or not.

You can just feel The Big Chill. Temperature of 10 degrees with the wind chill in the low single digits and the frozen lake. Nothing can prevent the pursuit of a passion.
#3 To the Point- Interpret that as you will.

On a walk at the cul-de-sac, snow removal produced this tapering point to go along with the points on the evergreen.
#4 Over the Top- Interpret that as you will.

Sunrise on an early January morning with crisp, fresh air, sparkling snow and shadows, which extend to the point. Does it extend Over the Top and beyond, perhaps to another roof or a field of snow?
#5 Ordinary People- Like the movie or not.

Ordinary People doing ordinary things making extraordinary ravioli. All part of the preparations for family dinners.
Thanks for reading.
