#21 Reflection

Reflection is everywhere in this image of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. Reflection on the lives lost in this war, on others who suffered thru this and continue to suffer from all conflicts. These reflections include our country and its citizens. Memorial Day, the last Monday in May, is a remembrance of all those that gave their lives in wars.

#22 The Big Sky

The Big Sky, with its multiple types of clouds projects beauty, softness, various shapes and colors, and can be both peaceful and tumultuous. Interesting colorful phenomena occur here as well including Rianbows, Fire Rainbows and Sun Dogs. In this portion of The Big Cloud cirrocumulus clouds overhang this building in the Strip District in Pittsburgh.

#23 Blinded by the Light

Though Blinded by the Light, the rainbow-like effect and the sun were welcome in the early evening sky following several days of rain. The rainbow effect, known as Sun Dogs (Parhelia) are created from sunlight passing thru plate-like ice crystals in cirrus clouds. They are evident to the left or right of the sun. The Sun Dogs and the cirrus clouds were worth being Blinded by the Light.

#24 The Places in Between

The Places in Between includes green spaces between two buildings like this in the Shadyside shopping area of Pittsburgh. Plants, flowers, lights and chairs provide a respite from shopping. This image contains the tasks for the May project-Fade, Reflection, Light (though not blinding) are included. The Big Sky is out there too!

Thanks to Rodrigo S-C, kasey sparks and Laura Novak for the challenging tasks each week. Thanks also to the project submitters for their interpretation of the tasks that continues to teach and inspire me. My thanks also to the readers of this project.
